THE WELDER FILM
CUT, WELD, STITCH, REPEAT
A young Latina woman, haunted by a traumatic military experience, seeks solace on a ranch vacation to ease her anxiety. However, her retreat turns perilous when she becomes entangled in a battle for survival against the demented racial experiments of a mad doctor.
The Welder takes the very prevalent issue of racism and explores the true horror that is racial division and even offers a solution, albeit a heinous one. The film also explores the issue of PTSD and mental illness; and shows what can happen when someone is taken to the brink of their sanity. Filmed over the course of 9 days in the heat of the Florida Everglades on a shoestring budget, this film is a testament to the indie filmmaking spirit.

"The Welder is a stunning debut from David Liz. The film features a wonderful cast, a pervasive feeling of dread, and a final act that is incredibly twisted and extremely shocking."-Pophorror.com
"The Welder isn't afraid to cut deep and deliver intense horror"-Morbidlybeautiful.com
"The genre is a perfect vehicle for allegory. Although some filmmakers are subtle in tackling complicated issues, others, like writer-director David Liz, are unafraid to take a direct approach"-Rue-morgue.com
